Wellness Consulting

Jeanne Simon
Before completing my Ph.D in clinical psychology, I was an adventure sports guide, translator, travel host and fitness professional in Asia, the Caribbean, French Polynesia, Hawaii and Latin America. Move Your Heart is the logical and natural integration of my lifelong love of moving in and being moved by the natural world and my devotion to helping others achieve mind-body coherence and integration.
I have an active, collaborative, and direct approach to therapy. My background as a clinical psychologist is steeped in the understanding and resolving of trauma. For my Ph.D. dissertation I examined the relationship between various types and dimensions of childhood trauma on later physical pain and functioning in adult women.
I am trained in EMDR, AEDP and Lifespan Integration therapy. These approaches are informed by my background in object relations and attachment theory, mindfulness meditation, and somatic therapy. My clients report feeling more peaceful, confident, creative and calm in their daily lives. I have learned powerful and effective approaches to healing from a number of gifted and visionary teachers and am fortunate to have been able to share these methods in the private practice setting for over 20 years. I am excited to bring this experience and training to a new format and setting.
Emotional Wellness
By addressing the whole person, there is a roadmap to transform suffering and disconnection into depth, wisdom and a deeper sense of connection to others and the natural world.
I believe in a comprehensive approach to emotional wellness. My professional and personal experience has taught me that psychological health is supported by physical wellbeing, by maintaining a connection to the natural world, to some form of spiritual practice and to community or people who care about us. As a result, I have moved my psychotherapy practice in a new direction to incorporate many of these essential components. Heartwalks naturally combines three powerful experiences: a caring therapeutic relationship, being close to nature and moving the body to help support emotional and physical vitality.
I have training and resources to support brain and body health through nutrition, micronutrients, exercise and a whole foods lifestyle. New advances in functional medicine and epigenetics are proving that simple lifestyle changes can result in profound shifts in health and even gene expression. Eating nutrient dense food or supplementing with micronutrients produces dramatic changes in mental health and is just one ingredient in helping the system function more efficiently in order to process emotions and integrate difficult life events.
